A “4K webcam” doesn’t mean 4K at 60 frames per second. Both of these cameras top out at 30fps in 4K, according to Logitech, so smooth 60fps video means dropping to 1080p. In our view, many streamers will run them at 1080p60 anyway, so what matters more is how each handles light and sound.
How we chose: research-based. We used Logitech’s own US store pages and Logitech Support spec and warranty pages (cited below). This guide covers Logitech models only: Logitech’s two 4K desk webcams in its US consumer webcam store (MX Brio and Brio 4K). Logitech’s Mevo Core streaming camera, business webcams such as MX Brio 705, its 1080p webcams and other brands are not compared. We have not physically tested these webcams. Image-quality claims are Logitech’s.
Which webcam fits
- Calls and streaming on a USB 3.0 USB-C port: MX Brio. Logitech says “UHD 4k resolution at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps” [1], and its spec page lists a “USB-C port supporting the USB 3.0 standard” as a requirement [2].
- Older laptops or USB-A ports: Brio 4K. Logitech’s spec page lists “USB 2.0 port or above” and includes a USB A to C cable [4], but its store page says “4K recording and streaming requires a USB 3.0 port and compatible third party software” [3].

Price tiers are relative to the products in this article. Each tier is based on the maker’s own US store listing, checked October 12, 2026 (ET). We don’t list street or retail prices because they change. “Not assigned” means we couldn’t find a price on the maker’s own US site. Check the current price before you buy.
MX Brio: Logitech’s top 4K webcam
Logitech calls MX Brio “our most advanced webcam yet”. It says it streams “at UHD 4k resolution at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps”, with “70% larger pixels” [1]. Logitech also claims “2x finer image detail and face visibility vs Brio 4K” [1]. That’s Logitech’s own comparison. Show Mode lets you “tilt down your webcam and share your notes and sketches on your desk” [1], and manual controls work in both Logi Options+ and G Hub [1]. Logitech says auto-framing (Right Sight) works “Only with Logi Tune” [2].
- Good fit: streamers and frequent callers with a USB 3.0 USB-C port.
- Trade-off: Logitech lists a USB-C USB 3.0 port as a system requirement [2], and it’s the top tier here.
Brio 4K: wider compatibility and HDR
Logitech says the Brio 4K uses “RightLight 3 with HDR” to adjust “for low light, direct sunlight, or high contrast” [3]. Logitech’s “up to 90fps” claim [3] is only at 720p, and its spec page adds “90fps must be supported by the application” [4]. Logitech says the dual mics “capture sounds up to 3 feet away” [3]. The three field-of-view presets (65°, 78°, 90°) require Logi Options+ [3]. The spec page also lists an IR sensor and Windows Hello support [4].
- Good fit: older laptops, USB-A ports, or Windows Hello sign-in (Logitech says 4K needs a USB 3.0 port [3]).
- Trade-off: Logitech’s own comparison puts MX Brio ahead on image detail [1].
Our take: If you stream at 1080p60, both cameras can do it according to Logitech [2][4]. Choose the Brio 4K if you need HDR and USB-A, or the MX Brio if you want Logitech’s newer sensor. (Opinion, not a test result.) For context, Logitech’s StreamCam is a 1080p camera: “full HD 1080p resolution at 60 fps” [5].
How to choose
| If you… | Look at |
|---|---|
| Have only USB-A or USB 2.0 ports | Brio 4K [4] (not at 4K on USB 2.0: Logitech says 4K needs a USB 3.0 port [3]) |
| Want Logitech’s larger-pixel sensor | MX Brio [1][2] |
| Need 4K at 60fps | Neither: both list 4K at 30fps [2][4] |
| Want Windows Hello face sign-in | Brio 4K [4] |
FAQ
Can either do 4K at 60fps?
No. Logitech lists 30fps at 4K for both [2][4].
Do I need Logitech’s software?
Both list UVC support [2][4]. Extra features need Logitech’s apps: field-of-view presets need Logi Options+ [3], and MX Brio’s Right Sight needs Logi Tune [2].
