GearSift (https://gearsifttech.com) is operated by Jonathan Unger and is reader-supported. We don’t currently use affiliate links or accept paid placements, and our picks are based on research. If that changes, we’ll disclose it on each page and here. This page explains how affiliate links would work and how we would disclose them.
What this would mean for you
- An affiliate link is a special tracking link to a retailer (for example, an online store). If you bought through one, the retailer would pay us a small share of the sale. The price you pay would be the same whether you used our link or not.
- Today, every article says it contains no affiliate links. If we add any, links that may earn us a commission will be marked “(paid link)” or appear in boxes and buttons labelled with a disclosure, and every article that contains them will show a short disclosure near the top, before the first link.
- We do not charge you anything, and we do not sell or ship products ourselves. Your purchase, shipping, returns, and warranty are handled by the retailer.
How we choose products
- Our recommendations are based on research: manufacturer specifications and datasheets, retailer listings, and published third-party reviews, which we cite in each article.
- Unless an article explicitly says otherwise and documents the test, we have not physically tested the products we write about. We never claim hands-on testing we have not done.
- We pick products based on our research. Commission rates are not part of how we rank them. As of the last-updated date, no manufacturer or retailer has paid us for a placement, ranking or review. If that changes, we’ll say so in the article.
- If we ever receive a product for free, a sponsorship, or any other payment from a brand, we will say so clearly in that article.
- Prices change often. We do not list fixed prices. Always check the current price on the retailer’s site.

GearSift has not joined any affiliate programme yet. Each programme will be listed here only after GearSift has been accepted into it.
