GearSift helps you choose tech gear with less guesswork. We publish research-based buying guides, side-by-side comparisons, and practical how-tos for:
- Gaming gear, accessories, and setups
- NAS & home storage
- Home networking: routers, switches, and wireless access points
- PC accessories, peripherals, and upgrades
How we research
- Specs from the source. We take specifications from official manufacturer pages and datasheets, and we cite them. If the maker doesn’t list a spec, we say “Not listed on product page/datasheet” rather than guess.
- Published reviews, cited. Where we draw on other reviewers’ findings, we link to them.
- No fake testing. We say clearly when a recommendation is research-based. We do not claim hands-on testing, lab results, or long-term use unless we have actually done and documented it.
- No fixed prices. Prices change constantly, so we don’t print street prices. We use price tiers and link to the maker’s page so you can check the current price.
- Updated, not abandoned. Each guide shows when it was last updated.
How we use AI
GearSift uses AI tools to help research, draft, and check our content. Every article is checked against its cited sources for accuracy and disclosure compliance before publication.
How we make money
GearSift is reader-supported. We don’t currently use affiliate links or accept paid placements, and our picks are based on research. If that changes, we’ll disclose it on each page and in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Who’s behind GearSift
GearSift is operated by Jonathan Unger and is based in Florida, USA. If a business entity is ever formed to operate GearSift, this page will be updated to name it.
